What Gmail sees
Notifizz measures your deliverability from the signals it receives: bounces, spam reports forwarded by mailbox providers, blocklist checks. That covers most of the picture — with one structural hole. Gmail does not forward individual spam reports. When a Gmail user hits “Report spam”, Yahoo and Microsoft would tell us; Gmail does not. So for the mailbox provider that usually represents the largest share of a consumer list, our own complaint rate is blind. Google Postmaster Tools closes that hole. Once your domain is linked, the Reputation page shows the spam rate Gmail actually measures, alongside what we measure ourselves.TL;DR
- Two clicks in your Google Postmaster Tools account: add our collector address as a user of your domain.
- You then see, per sending domain: the user-reported spam rate, the SPF/DKIM/DMARC success rates on mail Gmail actually received, and Gmail’s compliance status with its bulk-sender rules.
- Gmail data lags 2 to 3 days, and Gmail publishes nothing below a minimum daily volume to its users — an empty panel is normal at low volume, not a failure.
- A spam rate above the threshold raises your reputation level in Notifizz automatically, and can pause marketing sends.
Link your domain
1
Copy the collector address
It is shown on the Reputation page in Notifizz, under What Gmail sees, with a copy button.
2
Open the user management screen for your domain
The same page gives you a direct link per domain. It points at
https://postmaster.google.com/v2/manage_users?domain=YOUR-DOMAIN.That screen is not reachable from any menu in the current Postmaster interface — the direct link is the shortest way in. If your domain is not registered with Google yet, add it there first; Google will ask you to confirm ownership with a DNS record.
3
Add the address as a user
Paste the collector address and confirm. That is the whole gesture: we read your statistics, we never send on your behalf from that account.
4
Wait for the first sync
Notifizz reads Postmaster once a day. The domain moves from “not linked” to showing data on the next sync — sooner if you already have Gmail volume.
Reading the numbers
User-reported spam rate. The share of your delivered Gmail mail that recipients marked as spam. Google’s published bulk-sender rules put the line at 0.10 % as a target to stay under, and 0.30 % as a level to never reach. Those are the same thresholds Notifizz uses everywhere else, so the two views line up. Authentication rates. The share of mail Gmail received that passed SPF, DKIM and DMARC. This is different from the DNS check in Domains & DNS: that one verifies your records are published correctly, this one reports what actually happened to real mail. A gap between the two is worth investigating — a forwarding path that breaks signatures, or a third party sending under your domain without you knowing. Compliance status. Gmail’s own verdict on whether you meet its bulk-sender requirements, with a recommended action when you do not. We display it exactly as Google words it.Postmaster Tools does not report inbox versus spam placement — no tool from a mailbox provider does. It reports how your mail behaves and how recipients react to it.
FAQ
Why is my panel empty?
Why is my panel empty?
Two different reasons, and Notifizz tells you which one. Not linked: our collector has not been added as a user of your domain yet. Not enough volume: the link works, but Gmail does not publish statistics below a minimum daily volume to its users — you will see data once you send enough Gmail-bound mail regularly.
Do you get access to my whole Google account?
Do you get access to my whole Google account?
No. Adding a user to a domain in Postmaster Tools grants read access to that domain’s delivery statistics, nothing else. No mailbox, no sending rights, no other domain.
Where did domain and IP reputation go?
Where did domain and IP reputation go?
Google retired both in September 2025, judging them hard to act on and often misleading. They were replaced by the compliance status, which states a verdict and a recommended action instead of a score.
Why is the spam rate different from the one Notifizz shows elsewhere?
Why is the spam rate different from the one Notifizz shows elsewhere?
Because they measure different things. Ours counts the reports mailbox providers forward to us — and Gmail forwards none. Gmail’s number is the only accurate one for Gmail recipients; ours covers the providers that do send feedback. Both are useful, which is why both are shown.
What happens if the Gmail spam rate goes above the threshold?
What happens if the Gmail spam rate goes above the threshold?
Your reputation level in Notifizz is raised accordingly, and at the critical level marketing broadcasts are paused automatically while things recover. Transactional emails are never affected.
